Pangman School News!

The Elementary Track Meet was held in Ogema on June 8th. Due to the rain, track was held indoors at the School.  Pangman, Ogema and Wilcox Schools attended. Medal winners and first place finishers for this year were John Friesen, Hayley Lillejord, Natalie Lillejord and Jacey Rowland.

High School students had Districts in Weyburn on May 28th.  Medal winners there were Payton Nyhus, Jacob Beres, Traegan Quewezance and Shelbi Rowland.  Shelbi advanced to Provincials held in Moose Jaw on June 4th & 5th where she beat her personal best in the 200m.  Traegan Quewezance, Brea Nyhus, Hayley Kimball, Jacob Beres, Noel Muckalt and Brittinay Rowland all finished in the top 3,  Brittinay Rowland set a new district record in discus.

Mr Fowler’s sister Rhaea, has set a new World Record in Power Lifting (Bench Press), lifting 155.5 kg!  The students were lucky enough to watch this lift via live feed. Congratulations to Rhaea!

On another note, the students of Pangman School would like to thank the School Community Council for purchasing another smart board for Mrs Warren’s room.  That is a total of three (3) smart boards for Pangman School.

New Farmer’s Market Signs

Last week the new Farmer’s Market Signs were installed east and west of Pangman on Highway 13. The signs were installed above the Charity Farms signs. Thank you to Charity Farms for allowing us to do that.  Also a big thanks to those who helped put up the signs and to the Economic Development Board for ordering the signs.

We hope to see you at the Farmer’s Market which is on every Saturday from June to October from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.

Dan McIntosh of CTV Regina awarded RTNDA Award!

On June 19th, 2010, at the Radio Television News Directors Association (RTNDA) National Conference in Edmonton, Dan McIntosh was awarded the Dave Rogers Award for the short feature on CTV Regina entitled “A School Harvest”.

This short feature aired in November 2009 and it focused on Charity Farms, a group of local farmers from Pangman and area who planted, grew, harvested and sold the grain as a fundraiser for the Pangman School.

Congratulations to Dan McIntosh, the CTV Regina team and Charity Farms.

Pangman School 2010 Grad

On Friday May 7th, 2010, three grad twelve students graduated from the Pangman School.

The stage was decorated with lights, flowers and a beautiful backdrop with the following saying on it “Don’t wait the time will never be just right. Live life to the fullest right now”.

Congratulations to our 2010 Graduates!!

A Snowy Day in May

The last few days we have been waking up to snow here in Pangman. This morning it has been snowing quite a bit and there is lots on the ground as well.  Strange weather for May.

Lets hope that the warm May weather will return soon.

New Stage Has Arrived!!

The new stage arrived last week just in time for the Dance Recital and Graduation.

The new stage has been provided for the community and school activities as part of the Charity Farms project.

April 2010 School Newsletter

Below are some of the highlights from the April 2010 school newsletter.

  • There will be a new High School Math curriculum next year. The Grade 10s will be taking two new match courses, replacing the current Math A10 and B10. In Grade 10 the two classes they will be taking are Foundations of Math and Pre-Calculus 10 followed by Work Place and Apprenticeship 10.
  • The Senior, Junior and Rookie badminton teams have begun practicing for the season. Miss Quigley is coaching the Junior and Rookie and Mr. Fowler is coaching the Senior Team.  The badminton teams will travel to Weyburn and have a home match up with Ogema after the Easter break.
  • Graduation is coming up on May 7th at the school. The grand march will be held at 9:00 p.m. in the gym. There are 3 grads this year, Tye Froh, Noel Muckalt and Chantel Colbow.
  • Scrapbooking Club – April 19th – 3:10 to 5:00 p.m.
  • Grades 1 to 8 will be attending a drama production in Ogema, leaving on the bus at 11:30 a.m. April 15th. Town students should bring lunch.

Pangman School News!!

February is almost over, which means that the school year is already half over. The high school students are finished writing midterms and finals and semester two is underway.

On February 9th the students went on their annual ski trip to Mission Ridge. On February 10th, Luc Mullinder from the Saskatchewan Roughriders spoke to the student body about the Red Cross program called RespectEd. This program deals with bullying and treating others in an appropriate manner.

On February 23rd, the Saskatchewan Fencing Association will be out to do a fencing clinic at the school.

On February 23rd remember to dress up as an animal for a treat and to earn points for your team.

Computer Classes at Pangman School

Computer Classes start on Tuesday, February 16th at 7:00 p.m. at Pangman School. Mr. Fitzpatrick will be the instructor/teacher.  We are working towards 4-6 class times @ 2 hours minimum per night. There is no charge for these classes.

This is for any one interested in learning the computer.

Playschool Registration Now Being Accepted for Sept 2010 – 2011

Do you have a preschooler at home age 3 to 4? If so, registrations are now being accepted for Playschool for September 2010 to 2011.

Little Munchkins Playschool is held on Tuesdays and Thursdays morning from 9 to 11:45 at Pangman School.
