As well, the Pangman Market is held every Saturday during the months of July, August, September and 1st week in October. Tables are free, is you wish to sell something at the market, be sure to come early to get a table. The Southern Prairie Railway tour train stops in Pangman during the market, which bring travelers from all over.
Is your community group planning a event? Contact us and we would be happy to put it on the Community Calendar.
The EDB would like to remind everyone that the Pangman Market is held every Saturday morning from 9 to 1. The Tour Train visits Pangman about 10:45 am or so. If you have any items you wish to sell at the Market please note that the tables are free. It would be great if we could have more vendors to sell at the market. If you require more information about this please contact Eileen at 306-442-2145.
As well, they would like everyone to know that The Train Platform is for use by the community. It can be used for pictures or the train visit. Please note that Southern Prairie Rail has requested that any child who rides the train for the “loop-ride” must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. This is mainly because of liability.
Unfortunately, due to bikes and skateboards being used on the platform, a gate has been set up to prevent this. If you wish to use the platform and the gate is up, please contact Eileen or a member of the EDB to arrange to have the gate removed.
Thank you to everyone for their continued support of the Pangman Market.
Since June Train Robbers have been robbing the Southern Prairie Railway train on their regular Pangman Market and Heritage Train.
All monies raised from the Robberies have gone to the following Charities:
Mobility Lift- This is a special lift that will allow people with mobility issues to be easily boarded onto the train.
Juvenile Diabetes – Sadly this is becoming more common and it would appear that it is not for the reasons we have historically thought. In hopes of helping find a cure we will be donating all monies raised from this robbery to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
Eye Research – The workings of the human eye is still a bit of a mystery. When it stops working can be even a bigger mystery. All monies raised from this robbery will go to eye research.
Beads of Courage- Every bead tells a story of strength, honour and hope for a child with a serious illness. Each time a child is faced with a medical treatment or encouragement is needed to get a child to eat or drink, these beads work magic. All proceeds from this robbery will go to beads of courage.
One of the train robbers sent us photos of a train robbery which was held on Saturday, September 14, 2013.
Thanks for everyone who donated money to the above charities. The train robbers have been a big hit and I am sure they will continue next summer. Also, thanks to those who have volunteered to be part of the Train Robbery Gang.
Pangman Market continues to be a great Saturday morning event for all who come. We have many vendors with their items for sale for the local folks and the ones who come off the SPR Tour Train. Each week the visitors from the train are people who are holidaying or local folks taking the ride. By the end of the season there will have been about 500 people who have come to Main Street in Pangman and helped make it a good time. The Burger Bar each week is a big hit and a good social time as folks sit and visit. We have had great weather each week and it is nice to see the town come alive with cars on both sides of the street and lots of activity.
The final Pangman Market will be held on October 5th. We will have the “Party at the Platform” once again with a Burger lunch sponsored by EDB and the “Spinning Wheels” music duet will be on the Platform to entertain us. We will have the Vendor tables over there as well so everyone can be together.
So plan to join us for the final Pangmna Market day for 2013.
It was a beautiful morning on Saturday, July 13th for the Pangman Market. The rain stayed away until the market was over, which was great as we had about 70 visitors from the Tour Train visit the market today.
At the Market we had many vendors out selling a variety of items including: crafts, baking, dvd’s, avon, and much more.
It was great seeing so many people out to the market and wonderful seeing the visitors from the train who come from all over Saskatchewan and elsewhere.
The Market is on all summer, so if you get a chance be sure to stop in on Saturday mornings from 9 am to noon.
It was a beautiful morning for our first Pangman Market of 2013. Many vendors came out to sell their crafts, baking, jam, flowers, windsocks, jewelry and much more.
As well the The Spinning Wheels came out to perform some great old time songs. The Pangman and District Economic Development Board also hosted a burger lunch (burger, drink and chips).
We had many local visitors as well as others from communities in our area. Everyone had a good time visiting and shopping.
Be sure to visit our Pangman Market which is held every Saturday morning during July, August, and September from 9 am to noon. For a unique experience take the Tour Train from Ogema to our market and then back to Ogema.
