Pangman Co-op Celebrates 75 Years

On Thursday, April 7th, 2011 the Pangman Co-op held its 75th Annual Meeting. About 100 people attended the supper of Kentucky Fried Chicken at 6 pm and the meeting which followed at 7 pm.

Don Gursky chaired the meeting. The Pangman Co-op was presented with a plaque from the Federated Co-op. Monica was presented with a ring for her 15 years as an employee of the Co-op. The Federated Co-op Limited Delegates donated $150.00 to Charity Farms. Monica Wilson presented the Retail Manger’s Report. Susan Peters presented the Delegates Report.

Mayor Rod Rowland and Chuck Jacques congratulated the Pangman Co-op on their 75th Anniversary.

The official date of incorporation for the Pangman Co-op was April 1, 1936. The Co-op started out in a small building located where the cafe is today. It later moved to the building where the current Post Office is located. Later it moved to the present site of the Service Station. The earliest minutes on record are from 1944. In 2005 the Pangman Co-op opened the grocery store and at 2010 year end the grocery store has a black bottom line before FCL patronage.

New Postmaster in Pangman!

Diane Beattie was offered and has accepted the position of Postmaster at the Pangman Post Office.

Radius Credit Union Telemiracle Fundraiser!

During the month of February the Pangman Radius Credit Union sold Telemiracle Helping Hands to raise money for Telemiracle. As of March 4th, they sold 396 Helping Hands.

The Pangman Radius Credit Union have held this fundraiser for many years, but this will be the last year that Kathryn and Marilyn will be involved in this fundraiser together, as Kathryn is retiring in March 2011.

They would like to thank everyone who purchased Telemiracle Helping Hands this year.

Telemiracle starts at 9:00 pm, Saturday, March 5th straight through until 5:00 pm, Sunday, March 6th on CTV.   You can also join us live at TCU Place in Saskatoon.

Grainbelt Agencies Customer Appreciation Day

On February 26, 2011 Grainbelt Agencies held a Customer Appreciation Day at the Pangman Community Center from 2 to 5  pm. There was a lunch consisting of buns, cold meats, cheese, desserts and coffee.

Even though it was very cold out quite a few people attended the Customer Appreciation Day.

Grainbelt Agencies is owned by Don and Nancy Jones of Milestone with branches in Yellow Grass and Pangman.  The Pangman branch is operated by Myra Jesse and Lorrie Kessler.

Recent Upgrades to Co-op Food Store

This past week there have been some upgrades done at the Co-op Food Store.

A new door has been installed, new lights and the check out counter has been  moved over to the left side of the door. A new bulletin board for Pangman School news has been installed.

There will be a few more upgrades done over the next while, check back for updates

Clear Creek Organics & Dad’s Organic Foods Partnership!

Clear Creek Organics has partnered with Dad’s Organic Foods to open an organic and health food store in Regina.  Clear Creek Organics is proud to be a partner in the meat and deli section. We found their announcement about this on their website.

Dad’s Organic Foods opened its doors at their Regina store, 8-425 Victoria Ave., on January 25, 2010 and their grand opening is being held Thursday, March 25th  to Saturday, March 27th.
