There is a sigh of relief and gratitude when the grain is in the bins and always many thanks to be said for all the different helping hands that are involved each year with Charity Farms project.

Update on Community Kitchen and Daycare Buildings

Work continues on the Daycare and Community Kitchen. In April they installed the water and sewer lines and also built the entry way into the Daycare.

In April you should have received a mail out from the Daycare advising that they are now accepting resumes for positions. They are also asking that you contact Sveta Lagun or a board member with enrollment possibilities, including part-time or occasional, as they need this information for planning.

For more information on the Daycare please visit their webpage at www.pangman.ca/pangman-daycare or email them at [email protected] .

Ladies Night Out April 14, 2011

This year’s Ladies Night Out was held on Thursday, April 14, 2011. The guest speaker this year was Sandy Spencer from Weyburn whose topic was “Someday My Prince Will Come”.

We sold 80 tickets and served 79 ladies a delicious, cold meal of ham, turkey and salads with “fix your own” sundaes for dessert. Many door prizes were handed out. Winners of our raffle draw were Kathy Kaufmann and Connie Lozinsky.

We raised $1,110.50 which monies were donated to the “Pangman Charity Farms Kitchen Fund”. The monies earned will be used to help pay for the new kitchen which is attached to the school gym and will be a benefit to the entire community for years to come.

We would like to thank all those who donated salads, buns and cash and a special thank you to the contributors of door prizes.

Update on the Community Kitchen

This afternoon, March 9th, 2011, Artistic Masonry were out working on a fire wall which is being installed onto the Community Kitchen building. This fire wall is being made with concrete blocks.  If there was a fire at the Community Kitchen this fire wall should prevent the fire from spreading to the Day Care.

The Daycare & Community Kitchen Buildings Arrive!!

On February 8, 2011 the first Daycare building was delivered and on February 9, 2011 the second Daycare building and the Community Kitchen arrived.

Over the next week or so the buildings were moved onto their foundations at the Pangman School site. There is still more work to be done, but the buildings are here, and that is good news for Pangman.

A big thank you to Sabrina for sharing her photos with us.
