Sunny View Place News!

Another year has come and gone and we’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for our on-going support for the Deep South Personal Care Home (Sunny View Place).

It has been a very busy year at the care home. With many new faces coming to stay with us and having to say a few goodbyes we have managed to accomplish more than we had anticipated.

We had begun our heating upgrade with the engineering expertise of John Martin, countless hours from Roy Stirling and his crew at Ogema Welding & Machining along with many other devoted volunteers. This huge task has now been completed and with our long cold winter, it was just in the nick of time. Not only did we upgrade our heat we also purchased new beds, blinds for resident rooms and fenced in a secure courtyard in the backyard.

All of this was possible because of the generous donations that we received, excellent dedication from the Ladies Auxiliary and our community members who have cared endlessly to support us. We thank each and every one of you for your support.

On March 22,2011 we will be having our Annual General Meeting at the Pangman Community Centre. Registration will be at 7:30 pm. Meeting will start at 8:00 pm. Memberships will be taken at the door with a cost of $25.00. This will allow you a voice in the future operations of our home.

We hope to see you there!

Ladies Auxiliary Donates Shawls to Care Home!

On Wednesday, January 19th, 2011, the Ladies Auxiliary presented the Care Home with handmade shawls which they had made for some of the residents.

The Ladies Auxiliary hopes that the ladies receiving the shawls will enjoy them.

They would also like to remind everyone that there are tickets available for their current raffle (basket and curio cabinet).
